Mmhonlumo Kikon is a father of two daughters and has previously published a book of poems titles "The Penmi Poems" in 2018. He is also a second term legislator in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly representing the Bhandari Constituency of Wokha District. He studied Literature at the University of Delhi and is an Aspen Fellow.
