Day 1: 5th February

Session Brief

This Panel explores the global rise of anime and manga as a powerful storytelling medium that bridges cultures, generations, and creative traditions. From hand drawn panels to digital worlds, speakers will discuss how these art forms shape identity, fandom and visual literacy in an increasingly connected world. The session also examines their influence on fashion gaming and contemporary pop culture, inviting audiences to reflect on how Japanese storytelling continues to inspire imagination and creative expression worldwide.

Toshiyuki Honda’s name may not be familiar to many anime fans, but he is the very definition of a veteran, one of those people who have supported the anime
industry for decades. He started his career in 1969 in the genre-defining
sports anime Star of the Giants and has since then worked on many staples of
anime, most notably Doraemon.

Aside from his work as an animator, Honda has worked alongside some of the greatest names in the industry and has been involved in a variety of activities. As a member of Daikichirô Kusube and Yasuo Otsuka’s legendary studio, A Production, he worked next to future Studio Ghibli members Hayao Miyazaki and Yoshifumi Kondô. He was also involved in union activities, which were extremely active in the anime industry of the 1970s.

OPEN ACCESS WORKSHOPS: 6th February

Time: 5:00 - 5:45 PM

Session Brief

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping the way we interact, work, and learn, offering unprecedented opportunities to enhance both societal and organizational well-being. This demo workshop explores two major emerging trends in AI: first, its role in mitigating harmful content on digital platforms, where AI systems analyze texts, images, and videos in real time to detect hate speech, harassment, misinformation, and violent material—thus supporting human moderators to foster safer online environments. Second, we look at AI’s potential to transform the modern workplace, drawing insights from AdaptAI and GuideAI, two frameworks developed at Plaksha University’s HTI Lab. By leveraging multimodal data streams—including physiological signals, audio-visual cues, and digital behavior—AI can dynamically tailor interventions that enhance productivity, reduce cognitive load, and support emotional and physical well-being while doing work. In this workshop, the participants will get an exposure to practical AI techniques that enable online content moderation as well as learn how human-centered AI can act as an adaptive collaborator, optimizing workflows, personalizing learning, and promoting holistic well-being. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to engage with AI applications that not only automate tasks but also enhance human experiences at scale at the workplace.
